In Tamilnadu, eleven persons, including four women, were drowned when their boat heading towards Mulli Theevu island in the Gulf of Mannar off Periyapattinam coast capsized today. The Coastguard, Naval and Tamil Nadu Marine Police rescued 17 persons and brought them in an unconscious state to Pamban, near Rameswaram. Police said, seven bodies, including those of four women, have been recovered. The victims, were on a picnic to Appa Theevu and Mulli Theevu islands when the tragedy occurred.
