<span style="color: #222222;">In Tamil Nadu, eleven people lost their lives due to electrocution when a temple chariot at Kalimedu village near Thanjavur came in contact with heavy tension wire. 16 others sustained injuries and are admitted in the Thanjavur Government Medical College Hospital.  <br />'' <br />'' The state chief minister MK Stalin made a statement about the incident in the Assembly this morning saying, the accident occurred at 3.10 am when the chariot of the Appar Swamigal temple in the village took a turn to return back after the completion of the car festival procession. The car lost its control and collided with a pole carrying high tension live wire.<br />'' <br />'' The annual Chitra Festival is going on in the temple, and the car procession is one of the most important events of the festival.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Stalin announced a solatium of five lakh rupees each from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to the families of those who died. He said he will be visiting the village today and console the affected families and meet those who are undergoing treatment.<br />'' <br />'' The School Education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and many other people's representatives are camping in the area to offer help to the affected public.<br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile the state Assembly today adopted a condolence motion to pay homage to the victims of the accident.<br />'' <br />'' Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the mishap in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. He said, his thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief and hoped that those injured will recover soon. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Two lakh rupees each will be given to the next of kin of those who have lost their lives from Prime Minister's National Relief Fund. The injured will be given 50 thousand rupees.</span>
