In Pakistan, 11 Pakistani soldiers and 24 millitants were killed today in clashes after about 150 Taliban fighters attacked five security posts in the restive Mohmand tribal region. The militants attacked the Frontier Corps check posts in a region near the border with Afghanistan at 1.15 am. Authorities say, the militants ran away, leaving behind the bodies of several rebels, after the attacks were repulsed. The Pakistan Army conducted several offensives against the Taliban in Mohmand Agency though today’s attack showed that they retain the ability to mount strikes on the security forces.
