In Assam, 11 members of a Bihu troupe died in a road accident in Goalpara district this morning. The accident occurred at Dhupdhara when a truck collided with the vehicle they were travelling in. Goalpara SP said 9 persons including a budding singer died on the spot, while two persons succumb to their injuries on their way to hospital. One injured persons have been admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. People have apprehended the truck driver who had managed to escape from the the accident site. He has been handed over to the police. The artist group was returning to Guwahati after performing at a Bihu function.
