In Assam, 11 members of a Bihu troupe died in a road accident in Goalpara district this morning. The accident occurred at Dhupdhara when a truck collided with the vehicle they were travelling in. Goalpara SP said 9 persons including an upcoming singer died on the spot, while two persons succumb to their injuries on the way to hospital. Two injured persons have been admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. The truck driver managed to escape after the accident. Police are trying to nab him. The artist group was returning to Guwahati after performing a Bihu function.
