11 Lok Sabha seats go to polls in UP tomorrow

In 11 Lok Sabha seats going to polls in Uttar Pradesh tomorrow, over 1.85 crore voters will decide the fate of 151 candidates, including Maneka Gandhi, who is back to her traditional seat Pilibhit on BJP ticket and Congress leader Noor Bano.

AIR correspondent reports that all arrangements for the poll are in place. The Election Commission has moved the central para military forces to fully secure the polling stations. The administration has marked 131 polling booths as sensitive where additional forces have been deployed.

International border with Nepal along the Lakhimpur Khiri and Pilibhit districts has been sealed and strict vigil is being maintained by SSB and Jawans of Bihar Military Police. Static magistrates are also maintaining a close watch on the movement of outsiders and the vehicles entering from other districts.

AIR correspondent adds that the district authorities are also having a close vigil to prevent voters being bribed through cash, kind or liquor.
