In Andhra Pradesh, eleven people were killed last night in a major explosion and fire that broke out at the state-owned Visakhapatnam steel plant of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited.

The explosion occurred at the oxygen control unit near the Steel Melting Shop at the plant.

Security sources at the plant said that the explosion could have been caused due to abnormal build up of pressure in the unit.
