In Pakistan, at least 11 people were killed and 40 others injured in a suicide blast that hit a market area in the northwest tribal area of Bajaur Agency today. At least five vehicles and four shops were damaged in the blast.
The blast caused a huge panic in the market area. All the shops and nearby schools have been closed following the blast.
A curfew has been imposed in the area after the attack. The blast took place at about 8:00 a.m. local time when a suicide bomber hit a security vehicle patrolling at a bazaar in Khar, a main town in Bajaur which borders Afghanistan. Following the blast, rescue team and security forces have rushed to the area.
All the injured have been shifted to local hospitals and hospitals in the neighbouring city of Peshawar, the largest city in northwest Pakistan.
Eyewitnesses said that the suicide bomber was aged between 14 and 18. No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
