In Uttar Pradesh, eleven children succumbed to Japanese Encephalitis at Baba Raghav Das Medical College Hospital in Gorakhpur during past 24 hours. All the dead are children below 15 years. With this the death toll due to different kinds of encephalitis has mounted to 300 this year. Forty two patients of suspected encephalitis have been admitted to different hospitals. Our correspondent says, the number of encephalitis patients admitted this year to hospitals has gone upto over 2000. In view of high influx of patients additional wards have been earmarked for encephalitis patients.
