Senior BJP leader Dhananjaya Kumar has claimed that 11 BJP MLAs, whose disqualification by Karnataka Assembly Speaker was quashed by the Supreme Court, have extended their unconditional support to the Yeddyurappa Government. Mr. Kumar said in New Delhi today that a letter signed by the MLAs has been faxed to the Governor HR Bhardwaj Bhavan in Bangalore. BJP MP Ayanur Manjunath also confirmed that BJP MLAs have extended unconditional support to the Government. Earlier today, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had said that there was no need for a trust vote in the backdrop of the Supreme Court restoring the membership of 11 BJP and five independents. After winning all the three seats in the by-poll, the BJP has increased its strength to 109. Newly elected members were administered oath of office by the Speaker today. With the support of 11 rebel MLAs, its strength has now gone up to 121 crossing the minimum majority figure of 113 MLAs.A Congress delegation met Governor H R Bharadwaj today to seek his recommendation for dismissal of BJP government for facing corruption charges. The Governor H R Bharadwaj who returned from New Delhi today is yet to clear the Cabinet decision to hold the Legislative session from tomorrow. The Government has proposed to call the Budget session as vote of account is valid only till July.
