In Tamil Nadu, 108th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Mr. K.Kamraj was marked by the introduction of the universal middle school education programme by Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi at a function in Chennai today. Mr. Karunanidhi also laid the foundation stone for various school up gradation programme to the tune of 188 crore rupees. Speaking at the function, the Chief minister said the state government has been following the footsteps of Late Kamaraj in providing quality infrastructure in schools. Mr karunanidhi also setting up of a ever glowing torch at the Kamaraj Memorial in the city. <br/><br/>Earlier, education minister Mr K.Anbhazagan , state ministers, congress leaders garlanded the kamaraj statue on Anna Salai and paid tributes. The congress party has organized a number of functions to mark the occasion.
