108ft tall Shiva statue inaugurated at pilgrimage complex in Sikkim

In Sikkim, a 108 feet tall statue of Lord Shiva encircled with twelve other Jyotirlingas and a replica of the Chardham within the newly constructed Siddheswardham Piligrimage Complex was inaugurated today at Solophok. Our correspondent reports, the Pilgrimage Centre constructed in 5 years time with an estimated cost of more than 90 crore rupees will promote religious tourism.”This Chardham concept spread over 25 acres on Solophok hill in South Sikkim has included replicas of Badrinath, Jagannath , Dwarka and Rameshwaram besides a Sai Baba Temple and a Kirateshwar statue. The Pilgrimage-cum-Cultural Centre established on a grand scale ought to be a tourist attraction at the National and International level. The phase wise construction work begun from the year 2005 has some more future plans to construct a Yatri Niwas and a auditorium having light and sound show facility providing unique religious and cultural ambience to the tourists visiting the state”
