1083 nomination papers found valid for 2nd phase of polling in Gujarat

In Gujarat, 1083 nomination papers have been found valid after the scrutiny of total 1374 nomination papers filed for second phase of polling in 95 assembly seats. During the scrutiny of nomination papers yesterday, 291 nomination papers have been rejected.

Nomination papers of Mr. Nilesh Patel- an NCP candidate from Akota constituency was rejected on technical reason. Minister of state for energy in Modi Government Saurabh Patel is contesting this seat as BJP candidate, while Congress had fielded Mr.Lalit Patel on this seat on the last day of filing of nomination papers.

AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that final picture of contest for 95 Assembly constituencies will be clear by Monday evening, the last day of withdrawal of nomination papers.

Meanwhile, electioneering in the state is now in full swing after the completion of filing of nomination papers. Senior BJP leader and leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said, Chief Minister Narendra Modi is also capable of the Prime Ministerial post. Speaking to media persons at Vadodara yesterday, she claimed all round development in Gujarat during the BJP rule.
