After the final withdrawal of nomination papers, 1065 candidates are in fray for the Block Development Council polls in Jammu and Kashmir to be held on 24th of this month.<br />'' <br />'' The election will now be held for 283 out of 310 blocks as 27 candidates have been elected unopposed. The polls are being held on a party basis. 26,629 panches and sarpanches are eligible to vote and contest for the post of BDC chairpersons.<br />
