102 villages have been electrified across the country during last week under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojna. Out of these electrified villages, 32 in Assam, 23 villages belong to Arunachal Pradesh , 11 in Jharkhand, 13 in Bihar, 6 in Odisha ,7 in Madhya Pradesh, 3 in Rajasthan, 2 in Chhattisgarh, 2 in Manipur and 3 in Uttar Pradesh.<br/><br/>Government has decided to electrify remaining more than 18 thousand unelectrified villages by May, 2018. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's in his address to the nation on Independence Day last year had mentioned about it. Power Ministry in a release said, 7,445 villages have been electrified till date.
