100-years-old Indian Forest Act needs to be amended: MoS Environment

Union Minister of State for Forest and Environment Anil Madhav Dave has said that there is need to amend 100-years-old Indian Forest Act in this era of climate change. <br/><br/>In a meeting with senior forest officials of Madhya Pradesh in Bhopal today, he said, Madhya Pradesh should play an important role in this. <br/><br/>Later talking to media, he said that Madhya Pradesh will get 27 hundred crore rupees from Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority – CAMPA. <br/><br/>He said that the states now will get their share for forestation after passing of CAMPA bill in last session of Parliament. <br/><br/>He said that Rs. 40,000 crore of CAMPA fund was in banks for eight years. Mr. Dave said that all will be benefited from CAMPA.
