<br/>In Uttar Pradesh, the north eastern railway plans to convert 100 unmanned crossings into manned ones during next financial year. The railway sources told AIR Gorakhpur correspondent that there are about 1700 unmanned crossings in its jurisdiction where the accidents due to negligence have become frequent. The crossings having heavy traffic and are in remote areas would be given preference.
