Civic officials in Mumbai today demolished illegal structures in at least 100 restaurants and pubs in a major crackdown. The action follows yesterday's fire at Kamala Mills.<br/><br/>A spokesperson of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said the mega demolition drive was initiated across the city with around 1,000 officials and employees of the civic body. <br/><br/>Leave and weekly offs of the staff of several departments have been cancelled and concerned staff have been asked to remain on duty. The BMC spokesman said the action will continue till they remove all such illegal structures.'<br/><br/>The civic teams will also inspect all the restaurants in their respective wards and ensure that they are fire-compliant.'
