10 to 15 people took training from Islamic State terror group to carry out attacks on Easter Sunday: Sri Lankan Prez

<span style="color: #222222;">Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has said that ten to 15 people from his country had travelled abroad and taken training from Islamic State terror group to carry out the attacks on Easter Sunday. Speaking exclusively to our Colombo correspondent in Colombo, he said they had information about these individuals travelling abroad but not enough evidence to support their links with the terror group. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Sirisena said most of them have been killed in the Easter attacks and subsequent raid in Samanthurai. He claimed that peace has returned to the country and state agencies are functioning normally. His claims came as security forces rounded up dozens of people since the attacks and 10 terrorists were killed in a raid on a terrorist hideout at Samanthurai last week. Mr. Sirisena added that some tourists have started coming back, and assured of their safety.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Sri Lankan President said a commission has been set up to probe the lapse and he will take necessary action upon the receipt of report. Mr. Sirisena asserted that terrorism is a global problem and international community needs to come together to face it. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He also underlined the importance of regional cooperation through the platform of SAARC and BIMSTEC to fight terrorism in the region. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">President Sirisena said that they will bring new laws to tackle terrorist activities in the country. He also asserted that there is peace and reconciliation among different communities in Sri Lanka and the ban on burqa was suggested by Muslim leaders of the country.</span><br />''
