In Chhattisgarh about 10 police personnel were reportedly killed in an encounter with the Maoists in Bijapur district this evening. Four police personnel were also injured in the incident.According to police sources, the naxalites started indiscriminate firing on the police personnel in the jungle near the Bhadrakali police station area, who were on their way back after a search operation. ADG Police Naxal operation told AIR news this evening that there are reports of around 10 police personnel killed in the attack.He however declined to confirm the exact number of casualties saying it can be done only after the police party reaches the spot. Details are awaited.
