10 killed in Taliban suicide attack on US aid office in Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, ten people including six militants and two foreign nationals were killed when Taliban suicide bombers attacked the compound of a US aid organisation in northern province of Kunduz early morning today. <br/><br/>Afghan army commander in northern region General Murad Ali Murad said the fighting lasted for hours and all the six suicide bombers were killed during operation. He said that two foreigners were killed and three others sustained injuries in the operation, blast and gun battle. <br/><br/>The foreigners killed are suspected to be German nationals. Two Afghan police were also killed while 20 others including civilians were injured in the attack.<br/><br/>Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack saying six of their suicide bombers were involved. <br/><br/>The attack comes as US General David Patreaus is arriving in Kabul today to take charge as the top commander in Afghanistan. <br/><br/>The General has warned of tough fighting in coming months as June was the deadliest month for foreign troops. Another foreign soldier was killed in eastern Afghanistan today in an insurgent attack.
