Ten people have been killed and 61 injured in a blast outside the Delhi High Court. The condition of some of the injured is stated to be critical. The Home Minister P Chidambarm made a statement on the blast in the Lok Sabha. He said that this is a terrorist act and is aimed to destablize the country. Mr. Chidambarm said, it is difficult at this point to say which group is behind the blast and the investigation will be handed over to the National investigation agency. Mr.Chidambarm said that government strongly condemns the terror act. The House joined him in condemning the blast and called for joining the hands to fight the menace of terrorism.Police has cordoned off the blast site and have asked people to clear the area. Top officials of Delhi police including Special Commissioner Dharmendra Kumar and Joint Commissioner of Special Cell, R S Krishnaiah are on the spot to supervise the investigations. The blast may have occurred due to explosive material kept in a brief case out side the court complex. AIR team of Correspondents reporting from the blast site and the hospitals, say that the people are making frantic efforts to know the fate of their near and dear ones out side hospitals where there is a chaoitic situation and stains of blood can be seen at the blast siteThe Home minister held a high level meeting to take stock of the situation in the wake of the blast. Senoir home ministry and intelligence officials attended the meeting. He visited the blast site in the afternoon and was there for about 10 minutes.
