10 killed, 60 injured in Bangladesh trains collision

Railway workers in Bangladesh have untangled two trains that collided at a station just outside the capital Dhaka overnight, as the death toll from the crash reached 10 with at least 60 people injured. One train was stopped at the station when the second ploughed into it from behind, leaving mangled carriages stacked on top of each other. Rescue workers and local people pulled survivors from the wreckage.The district police chief said that they are still trying to clear the tracks but heavy rain is hampering the effort. He confirmed that three people had died in hospital overnight. .More than 40 people remain in hospital, many with severe injuries.The accident occurred in Narshingdi, 30 kilometres north-east of Dhaka, on Wednesday afternoon (local time).An investigation into the cause of the crash has been launched.
