In Jharkhand, 10 'Kanwariya' devotees have been killed and 50 injured in today's early morning stampede at Deoghar. Among the injured, many have already been discharged after initial treatment, but four seriously injured have been airlifted by CRPF helicopter, to Ranchi and have been admitted to RIMS emergency for treatment. Jharkhand Chief Minister's Media Advisor Yogesh Kislay has told AIR Correspondent that all four are out of danger.<br/><br/>State government ,Deoghar Temple Management Board and Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand Parimal Nathwani have separately announced ex-gratia payments to the next of kin of the dead and inured. While state government would give two lakhs rupees each for dead, and fifty thousands rupees for injured, Temple Management Board would provide one lakhs each for dead and 25 thousands for injured. <br/><br/>Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani has announced payment of 25 thousands rupees each for the relatives of those who died in the stampede. A team of officer under Home Secretary N N Pandey , which has started conducting inquiry after arriving Deoghar from Ranchi, has ruled out reports of lathi charge as cause of stampede. But answer to the question why the incident occured, will remain in the mind of people, it is finally answered. <br/><br/>State government has also appointed Rahul Purwar as Special Deputy Commissioner and Murari Lal Meena as Special SP for the ongoing 'Shrawani Mela'. Additional three companies of CRPF and two of RAF are being deployed for Baijnathdham and Basukinath Temple complexes. Other additional senior officers, like Vigilance SP Devendra Thakur & JAP -one Commandant have also been deputed in Deoghar from Ranchi on special duties.<br/><br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the incident and has instructed Chief Minister Raghuwar Das over telephone in the morning itself to speed up relief and other measures. BJP MP from Godda Niishikant Dube, ex-Chief Minister & BJP leader Arjun Munda have blamed the state government and administration for the stampede. Congress State President Sukhdev Bhagat and JMM leader and ex- Chief Minister Hemant Soren have also blamed the state government for not taking measures for safety of Kawanrias.
