In Afghanistan, a combined force of the NATO and Afghan soldiers killed more than 10 insurgents and detained another nine during overnight searches in eastern parts of the country.A press release issued by the International Joint Command in Kabul on Monday said the operation was launched on a tip off from local citizens that the Haqqani network was planning attacks in the coming weeks. The combined security force killed two insurgents in Khugyani district of Nangarhar province during an overnight search operation.In Wardak, Ghazni and Khost provinces several insurgents were killed and many others detained during search operation. No civilians were hurt during the operations. According to the International Joint Command, the combined security forces have captured or killed over 100 Haqqani insurgents in Khost, Ghazni, and Wardak provinces since the beginning of this year.
