More than ten fishermen from Rameswaram Tamil Nadu were injured when Sri Lankan Navy attacked them last night while fishing near Kachatheevu islands. The fishermen who returned home today said that the Lankan Navy chased them away before attacking them with bottles sticks and stones. <br/><br/>More than two thousand Tamil fishermen from Rameswaram and Thankachimadom ventured out into the sea last night in 500 boats. When they were fishing near Kachatheevu islands Sri Lankan Navy attacked them and damaged more than 15 fishing boats. <br/><br/>The fishing nets were cut and other fishing equipment were damaged. One fishing boat was sunk in the melee and the four fishermen in it were saved by fellow fishermen. Some of the fishermen were also injured as stones and bottles were pelted by Lankan Navy.
