10 films makers announce they will return their National Awards to govt

10 films makers have announced that they will return their National Awards to the government in solidarity with students at the Film and Television Institute of India, FTII, and also in protest against the rise in intolerance.<br/><br/>Group of filmmakers includes directors Dibakar Bannerje, Harshwardhan Kulkarni, Indraneel Lahiri, Lipika Singh Darai, Hari Nair and Paresh Kamdar, documentary filmmakers Anand Patwardhan Rakesh Sharma and Nishtha Jain, and film editor Kirti Nakhwa.<br/><br/>In a letter to the President and the Prime Minister, these filmmakers also referred to the murders of rationalists and writers like Dr. Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare and M.M.Kalburgi.<br/><br/>
