‘Anantchaturdashi’ – the day marking the end of the 10 day long Ganeshotsav celebrations is being celebrated with traditional gaiety and fervour. Several small and big Ganesh idols are being immersed at 88 immersion points amidst tight security in the Mumbai today.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has deployed 88 life guards on the city beaches in addition to lifeguards appointed by the traffic police to ensure a safe immersion.

A special helicopter did an ariel survey of the immersion processions in Mumbai today and CCTV cameras were installed at major waterfronts and roads to keep an eye on public movement and traffic. The security will remain tightened till the end of Ganesh idol immersions in the city.
