Following the unrest in Shillong, in another incident of violence today one person was killed and six others were injured as miscreants targeted business establishments in Motphran areas of the city. <br />'' <br />'' The district administration had earlier re-imposed curfew from 12 pm until further orders in areas, which come under Lumdiengjiri Police Station and Sardar Police Station after relaxing for four hours in the morning.<br />'' <br />'' Meghalaya Home Minister Lakhmen Rymbui after convening a meeting with Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills district and Rangbah Shnong (Village Chiefs) following the incidents, today informed media that all measures will be taken up to bring back normalcy in the city. <br />'' <br />'' He urged for co-operation of each and every citizen and village chiefs to extend their help and support in the efforts of the State Government to bring back normalcy.<br />'' <br />'' The Home Minister said that eight people have so far been arrested who were named in the FIR which ensued yesterday where one activist of the Khasi Students Union lost his life. To strengthen the presence of armed forces the State Government had called in the support of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and two companies have arrived and six will reach the city tonight, the Home Minister said. <br />'' <br />'' He also said that normalcy will return in the city and assured that the upcoming class X and XII exams will not be affected.<br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma earlier today informed that the State Government has decided to provide ex gratia of Rs two lakh to the next of kin of the deceased KSU member, Lurshai Hynniewta who was killed during a clash at Ichamati near Shella on Friday afternoon. 35-yr-old Hynniewta succumbed to his injuries yesterday after a clash erupted between the KSU members and alleged Bangladesh immigrants in Ichamati under Sohra subdivision.
