1 militant killed in encounter with security forces in north Kashmir

In Jammu & Kashmir, 1 militant has been killed today in an encounter with security forces in north Kashmir's Uri sector of Baramulla district. An Army spokesman this evening confirmed to AIR the death of 1 militant only in the ongoing encounter in the Kazinag Dhar area of Uri Sector, which is around 108 Kms in north of Srinagar headquarters. The encounter ensued when security forces intercepted a group of militants early morning today in which 1 unidentified militant was killed in the initial gunfight. <br/><br/>1 assault rifle was also recovered from the encounter site. Sources said 4 to 5 militants are believed to have infiltrated few days ago into this side of Line of Control and are trapped in the area. The cordon and search operation is in progress. Reports said another group of 4 to 5 militants has been trapped in the Rafiabad area of Baramulla district and the details area awited. On 3rd of last month, 1 soldier and two armed infiltrators were killed when Army foiled an infiltration bid near Noori forward post in Boniyar area of Uri Sector.
