Rural Development Ministry has said, more than one lakh youths were employed at job fairs held during a fortnight-long campaign across India in early October.<br/><br/>In a statement in New Delhi yesterday, the Ministry said that during the campaign on development and cleanliness of villages, which ended on October 15, a total of 1.35 lakh youths were placed. More than 38,000 villages were declared open-defecation free and 5.98 lakh individual-household toilets were built in rural areas, the statement said.
