1 person died and at least 8 others were injured as a part of an under-construction Metro bridge collapsed on the Anderi-Kurla route today. The incident occurred near a hotel in Marol. Two fire engines and two ambulances have been rushed to the spot and the injured persons have been taken to the Seven Hills Hospital. The condition of three of the injured is critical. Some people are feared to have be trapped in the debris. Rescue operation is underway. This part of the overhead Metro bridge is on the crowded Andheri-Kurla road that leads to the airport and the collapse is expected to cause traffic pile-ups in this Bbusiness area .
