In Kerala, one person was killed in a landslide that took place at a teak plantation at Kadavoor in Peringottoor panchayat near Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district this evening. Police sources said eight persons were reportedly missing following the landslide. At least six houses have been damaged. Police and fire force personnel have rushed to the site and are conducting search and rescue operations. People from nearby areas have been evacuated. The region has been experiencing heavy rains since last night.
