Western Railway has informed that it had apprehended more than 1.85 lakh people for indulging in illegal activities like chain pulling, hawking, authorized travelling in ladies coaches, fraud in e-ticketing, etc. <br/><br/>Addressing a press conference in Mumbai today, IG-cum-Chief Security Commissioner of Western Railway, Mr. Udai Shukla said a total of 4.12 crore rupees in fines was realized during the year 2016. <br/><br/>He also informed that last year, 612 children were rescued by the RPF and handed over to authorized persons. Mr. Shukla said that more than 1300 CCTV cameras have been installed at 47 important stations leading to an increased surveillance and prevention of crime. <br/><br/>He added that RPF staff handed over belongings of more than one Crore rupees to passengers who forgot them on trains. Talking about social media, Mr. Shukla said that Western Railway is active twitter account and WhatsApp groups for Mumbai's suburban section to address their grievances and collect suggestions.<br/>
