A Girls' Brass Band from Tripura has been selected from the entire eastern region to participate in the coveted National School Band Competition for Republic Day Celebrations 2024. The Band consists of 25 girls aged between 11 to 16 and from classes 6-8 of St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School Pathaliaghat under the Sepahijala district. They hail from different interior villages of the State. The band team is just 8 months old and they have performed at three different places and bagged First Prizes in all these three events. Their band classes were held for 15 days and they have mastered the instruments within a short duration of time. It has already reached the National Capital. The band will participate in the competition to be held on the 21st and the 22nd of January at the National Stadium in New Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day 2024.<br />”<br />”State Education Officer, Kalipada Chakma informed that the band won first place in the eastern region, beating several small and big States including Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. <br />
